NEW! Proprietary Hudanich Orthopedics® 3-in-1 Non-Muscle Cutting, Tourniquet-Less, Robotic Knee Replacement Surgery®
Earlier this year, Dr. Hudanich, Hudanich Orthopedics®, introduced an absolutely game-changing, most advanced, innovative new non-muscle cutting knee replacement surgery technique.
Ronald V. Hudanich, DO, now combines 3 of the latest orthopedic joint replacement surgery techniques with the proprietary Hudanich Orthopedics® non-muscle cutting knee replacement surgery:
(1) Stryker® Mako™ robotic-arm assisted,
(2) minimally invasive, subvastus quad muscle sparing (non-muscle cutting),
(3) tourniquet-less approach for total knee replacement surgery.
The patient will benefit greatly with this newest combination and most advanced orthopedic surgery approach, as it is a minimally invasive knee replacement surgery procedure, resulting in less damage to soft tissues, leading to a quicker, less painful recovery and more rapid return to normal activities.
Proprietary Hudanich Orthopedics® Non-Muscle Cutting Combination
The quad tendon (quadriceps) connects the large quadriceps muscle group on the front of the thigh to the kneecap.
In a traditional total knee replacement surgery the quadriceps tendon will be cut. The orthopedic surgeon moves the kneecap out of the way to access the arthritic joint.
The newer minimally invasive knee replacement surgery avoids the quadriceps tendon and muscle, and therefore is a complete muscle sparing, non-muscle cutting approach.
The same artificial joint used in conventional knee replacements is sized and fit into place, using the precision of robotic-arm assisted surgery technology.
A key factor of the minimally invasive knee surgery is to protect and preserve muscles, since your muscles provide control and strength to your knees.
The muscles are also an important factor in regaining motion. Hence, not cutting or detaching the muscles around the knee results in less pain, better motion and faster recovery.
When combined with the Stryker® Mako™ robotic-arm assisted surgery and tourniquet-less technology, the patient experiences less thigh pain, less swelling, increased and earlier range of motion and, an overall feel of their knee being more natural and more like their own, original knee that they were born with.
"As we are continually working on improving the process to allow patients to return to their normal life as quickly as possible, we are very excited about this most advanced and innovative combination of the latest and greatest technology available to surgeons," said Ronald V. Hudanich, DO, "it is yet another step for us to help our patients recover quicker."
This minimally invasive technique is not suitable for all patients and it should only be performed by a well-trained, highly experienced orthopedic surgeon.
